You read that right, Playstation VR to add PC Support!
In the past Sony’s PSVR2 and previous VR headsets have required a Playstation console to play any of their VR games.
Soon this will no longer be a limitation. According to Sony’s blog, “We’re pleased to share that we are currently testing the ability for PS VR2 players to access additional games on PC to offer even more game variety in addition to the PS VR2 titles available through PS5. We hope to make this support available in 2024.”
This is fantastic news for VR gamers on a budget who have been unwilling to shell out hundreds of additional dollars in order to purchase a Sony Playstation console.
This change will make the barriers of entry to owning a PSV2 headset much lower.
This is also great news for PC gamers who already own a catalog of VR games.
According to cnet, “For its part, Sony has begun releasing some of its most popular games on PC too, including a remade version of its hit 2013 survival horror game The Last of Us Part 1 and the 2018 action game Marvel’s Spider-Man.”
This means not only will the PSVR2 will have additional games for their VR users as well.
This is an exciting trend for VR enthusiasts and we can only hope other VR headset makers follow suit.
So if you’ve been wondering, “can I play PSVR2 on a PC?” The answer will soon be YES!
